The Heartbeat Argument & Sky's Pendulum

1/22/2009 TJP News Update

The following are Sky's latest physics/philosophy. "Sky's Heartbeat Argument" explains that the muon detection results have already verified subjective relativity. "Sky's Pendulum" is an analogy which may help to explain the human condition of possibly being 'hard-wired' to perceive a hyperdimensional reality through a four dimensional lens.

"SKY'S HEARTBEAT ARGUMENT"

The Heartbeat Argument appeals to common sense. It argues that one's lifetime may be measured in heartbeats. It argues that no matter how hard you might accelerate, no matter how fast you might go, no matter how much you might wiggle or dance; you will not be able to increase your lifetime, FROM YOUR OWN POINT-OF-VIEW.

The Heartbeat Argument is the result of a thought-experiment involving 'riding the muon'. If we imagine that we are travelling along with a muon created in the upper atmosphere, the heartbeat argument explains that in order for our ACTUAL, ontological time to slow down, something additional must be postulated, just as the Higgs field is postulated in objective relativity to explain the increase in our ACTUAL, ontological mass.

On the other hand, subjective relativity explains that, as we ride the muon toward the Earth, from OUR OWN POINT-OF-VIEW, our ACTUAL, ontological mass will NOT increase and our ACTUAL, ontological lifetime will NOT increase.

This means that the ACTUAL, ontological speed of the muon and those of us riding it, FROM OUR OWN POINT-OF-VIEW, is GREATER than c, verifying subjective relativity.

"SKY'S PENDULUM"

Imagine a pendulum hanging down through a 'flatland'. The flatlanders can only see the intersection of the pendulum with their reality, but we can see the whole pendulum. We can see that its motion is due to its fulcrum and to the gravity in our world, but the flatlanders are clueless. The analogy is that we humans may be 'hard-wired' to perceive a hyperdimensional ontological reality through an epistemological four-dimensional perception grid.

If we imagine what the pendulum looks like to the flatlanders we can learn at least two things:

1. If a finger outside of flatland pushes on the pendulum, it will look like a miracle to the flatlanders,

2. Even if the flatlanders have precise equations describing the motion of the intersection, they may still be completely unaware of what's really going on.
